Back agian, back again.China was terrific. Emma was fantastic to travel with and spoke such good Chinese she was complimented by people who weren't even trying to sell her stuff. (Curiously, she was so good at talking with the locals some of them found it difficult to believe I could not speak Chinese.) We spent an unexpected prelude in Kuala Lumpur before a week in Beijing, two days in Luoyang (after many unrelated sources advised us Xi'an was "a dirty place") and three in Shanghai. We visited a bunch of places including The Great Wall, The Summer Palace, The Temple of Heaven, and the White Horse Temple (as seen in the closing credits of
Monkey). There were many more which I can't recall the spelling of.
(If you are hoping I am going to recap fourteen days of touring you will be disappointed. Think again, and this time keep in mind you barely get a weekly paragraph out of me when I'm in the country. I shall try to insert memories of the trip in future entries.)
