The weekend didn't go exactly to plan. Kate didn't read Gavin's background material for the Dungeons & Dragons
game; she committed a flagrant breach of the law in the middle of a busy marketplace with her first action and the game rapidly broke up. It was a great pity. Visiting Duffy Street went better. In fact it was so good we ate takeaway with them and didn't bother going to a movie. After the guys left for a poker game Emma and I chatted with Fiona until well past bedtime.
Mum wasn't home when we went for breakfast; I still don't know why. Her diary had nothing written in for Sunday, so I guess she forgot to note we were coming and had accepted an invitation at short notice. Instead we had brunch at Hansel & Gretel's, which was nice. We were heading into town to browse through Impact Comics when Linda called to tell us some friends had sad news. A tentative flowers and chocolates plan was confirmed when we crossed paths with Linda and Audrey in town and we all went visiting to convey our condolences (sans chocolate due to trading hours).
Emma left to return to the Pirate House (via lunch with Gavin) and I started counting down to Friday when I shall follow her (sans lunch with Gavin). I did some washing and read Kingdom Come
before watching the first three episodes of The Dead Zone
(and sleeping through the fourth) when Anne came to visit. Also, Polly and Jon rang; and Emma sent a message to say she reached home safely. I miss her so.
