I saw an echidna.
It was crossing the road, and not just any road. It was crossing the road which circles Parliament House, Capital Circle (the one closest to Parliament House). And it was crossing the road just past where the bus lane merges, so it was relatively dangerous place to cross. Fortunately there was not much traffic and I could actually come to a complete stop and see the echidna cross safely over.
On the way home a saw a rabbit cross Duffy Street. It was somewhat less remarkable, but I slowed down anyway.
