Don't know. Malaise? Somehow I just don't feel the urge to write it all up.
There's always games. Alex, Emma, Gavin, James, John and Shy played my
Dungeons & Dragons game on Saturday. After they decided* to abandon the dragon's lair and return to town for reinforcements, and more money, I introduced some political intrigue. I was concerned the characters might use player knowledge but my plot was so thin they saw through it immediately and it wasn't really an issue. John's new character was introduced over lunch and we played the whole session without a round of combat. I have noticed the players who like politics will still put in to a fight, but the players who like combat failed to engage in the intrigue. This might be because my fights are better than my plots; so I should put more plots into practice.
I played
Burning Wheel with Dave, Emma, Jimbo and Simon on Tuesday. It is good. The mechanics are many but they are starting to make sense and cheat sheets are evolving. When we collaborate on a scene I forget to pay attention to my own character and sometimes Declan misses out on the action. I hope I get better at this. Fortunately it is fun.
