Why don't people back up their computer?
One of the features offered by the security software I have a subscription to is automatic backup to secure online storage. Important information about this feature includes:
Fortunately my laptop has a DVD burner so I could use that option. Meanwhile the desktop PC which shares the subscription and doesn't have a DVD burner has never been successfully backed up.
*36±2 minutes in 3 trials totalling 142% over the weekend.

- No other programs should be running while the back up is happening.
- The back up will pause if the computer sleeps or hibernates.
- The back up will stop if the internet connection is lost.
- Approximate time to back up 1% = ½ hour*.

You could change the sleep/hibernate settings in the control panel. If Vista allows you to do that.
Or you could take Monday/Friday off work. Seems like a legitimate use of a personal day to me!

Easier still would be to get a cheap external hard drive and do a backup to that. I can't fathom the pain that would be involved in doing a backup over the webz.

Besides, you only need backups of data you cannot replace, right? You have all your apps on their own CDs?
