With our very special guest star...

I returned to the Muppet Theatre on Monday. My keys still worked; they hadn't changed the locks. They had, however, moved the company to another site. Eventually the janitors arrived, I was just lucky they were contracted to the building. George had a forwarding address for some dry cleaning which I followed up. Now I travail in a huge tract of open-plan space with an honest to sky-wizard atrium and too many mezzanines to count. Also, in true Muppet style, the stairs don't work so everybody has to use the lifts.

Cowboys believe time changes everything.

I lost no weight (±0.05Kg) in the last six months but my work clothes don't fit. My cooking remains bland and unpalatable to other humans. I still have half a room of boxes and an undiminished garage of tat to evanesce. I need new shoes. I may yoga again soon and I may start planning to run a game, or two. I blog less than weekly yet I still have to flesh it out the prosaic minutiae and vague speculation.

Shuffling dustward.

Many happy returns of the week to Bela, Grey, Jen and Terence; and thank you, everybody, for my own birthday wishes, celebration, cake, treats and gifts.

Comments:
You know I'm jealous of your minutiae and speculation, right?

This may not sound like the snappiest line from 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968), but it evidently caught the imagination of John Landis, who has worked references to a mythical film of this name into most of his own movies - memorably as the grotty British skinflick watched by an assortment of lycanthropes and zombies in the climax of An American Werewolf in Paris [sic] (1981). Ghastly Beyond Belief, Neil Gaiman and Kim Newman
