Awkward juxtaposition.I am in Adelaide for work. My hotel is tall and square, so it fits seamlessly into Adelaide's CBD which is 90% tall and square 9% heritage facades and 1% churches. The people who work here usually have to phone or email me if they have a question, now they can ask me face to face. In return the people who usually can ask me face to face now have to send emails and make phonecalls. To make the experience more acute the emails are delayed by the lag caused by me logging in remotely to the Canberra server to read my email, and I don't have a phone here. Most of the questions I have answered today were from people who are visiting Adelaide for the same reason I am, somewhat defeating the purpose. One local person has asked me questions, but I think it is because she cannot understand my colleague's accent. Also, she provided her own answers in the course of asking the questions, which was nice (and solution focussed).
The public internet 60 second warning just flashed on the screen. I hope I have time to publish this...
